The Durham Museum Wedding Brings a 1920s Twist

He Popped The Question; Now they Popped the Champagne

Gatsby would never let his guests go hungry, let alone thirsty. And neither should you. Luckily, a wedding venue in Omaha, Nebraska accommodates over-the-top celebrations! It’s the Durham Museum located in downtown Omaha, Nebraska.

In August, I helped Guinevere and Daniel say their nuptials at their snazzy, jazzy soiree that Gatsby himself would fall head over heels. After the ceremony, the couple popped champagne and danced the night away at their lavish ’20s inspired wedding. It was an absolute delight!

1920s Decor Makes the Mark:

Some of my favorite things from the wedding included the Decor. You truly don’t need Gatsby’s mind-blowing mansion to set the stage for a 20’s opulence. The couple dazzled their guests with metallic and black Decor tied in very well with the room’s ambiance. In addition, they utilized features, feathers, and geometric solid states that were inspired by this era.

Acknowledge Familiar Faces:

I enjoyed working with many familiar faces, including:

  • Audra Pace, Wedding Coordinator at Dream Big Events
  • Attitude on Food, Catering Company
  • Image Society, Wedding photography

There’s something special about working with people who make you feel appreciated and acknowledged. At the Long Wedding, we worked together for the common goal of making the happy couples everything they ever imagined. This wedding is mainly one of my favorites because of this reason.

A Bit About the Durham

The Durham Museum is Omaha’s home to history, where beautiful Art-Deco-inspired architecture blends with memories of times of the past. As one of Omaha’s most unique treasures, the Union station offers a fascinating look at the history of Nebraska’s most definitive history.

Many couples choose Durham because it has all the “WOW” factors necessary to create a memorable event for their guests. You can find the Durham Museum inside Omaha’s Union Station, where it offers 65-foot ceilings, original chandeliers, and beautiful restoration throughout the building. Additionally, this lavish event hall is close to Historic Downtown Old Market. Guest can easily walk to shopping, restaurants, and other unique finds.

If you’re looking for a lavish ’20s inspired wedding venue in Omaha, Nebraska, I highly recommend checking out the Durham Museum. You will not be disappointed with their dramatic, eye-catching Art-Deco details. It’s quite possibly one of the most historic yet romantic venues in the area.
